On June 9 2016, at 1:18 a.m., officers responded to 4545 Olive for a shots fired call, which was later determined to be a robbery. The victims were robbed at gunpoint by two unknown black male suspects. One of the suspects shot and killed Tyrell Thompson. The two suspects fled the scene in a dark colored, four-door sedan, believed to be a General Motors vehicle.
The suspects are described as being in their late teens to early twenties. Subject number one was wearing a white T-shirt and white pants.
The second subject was observed wearing dark colored clothing.
