Sherrell Austin was the back seat passenger in a vehicle stopped near the intersection of 23rd and Hebert at 2:00 AM on July 8th, 2010. A Charcoal Gray or Green colored sedan pulled up to the victims vehicle. One of the four Black Males in this sedan got out and attempted to rob the victim and the other occupants of their vehicle. As the occupants attempted to flee the vehicle, the victim was shot and killed by one of the Black Male Subjects. The subjects fled in an unknown direction. Witnesses report the gun used in this Homicide was possibly a 9mm automatic hand gun.
