On September 22, 2013 around 2:30 AM, Randy Jones and 3 others were standing adjacent to the apartment complex at 3916 North Florissant when they were struck by gunfire. Victims advised they only heard the gunfire and did not see anyone shooting at them. A witness reported hearing an argument just prior to the gunfire. Victim Randy Jones suffered gunshot wounds and died at an area hospital.
