On April 9, 2017 Officers responded to a call for a “shooting” and upon arrival, located the victim unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound to the flank. She was conveyed to a hospital and pronounced deceased. Investigation revealed the victim and her boyfriend were travelling east on W. Florissant when gunshots were fired at their vehicle from unknown suspect(s) in a vehicle. The victim, who was driving, was struck and pulled to the side of the road where her boyfriend flagged down a police officer for help.
