On the evening of Thursday, May 26, 2022, police officers from the St. Louis County Police Department's City of Jennings Precinct answered a call for service for a shooting in the 5600 block of Janet Avenue. Upon arrival, responding police officers were met by multiple witnesses who advised an adult male had been shot in an apparent "drive-by". The victim, thirty-nine-year-old Edwardo Santiago Jr., was conveyed to an area hospital by family members and friends, but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
Investigation revealed the victim was gathered with a large group of subjects in/around the street when the shooting occurred. It is believed there are numerous witnesses to this incident.
