District 5 detectives are seeking assistance locating a suspect and suspect vehicle responsible for a deadly hit-and-run on August 20, 2026 in the Central West End. Around 3:35 a.m. on August 20, District 5 received a call for an “accident – person struck,” relative to a woman that was lying in the 3900 block of Olive Street.

Prior to police arriving, the woman, 56, was transported to a hospital for treatment. She was listed in critical/unstable condition and later died from her injuries. She has been identified as 56-year-old Rochelle Taylor of St. Louis City.

No video or photo evidence of this incident exists, and no witnesses to the incident were able to be located. District 5 detectives are hoping for the public’s help with locating a suspect(s), the vehicle that struck Taylor, and/or any other relevant information about what occurred.
