On Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at approximately 4:02 AM, the East St. Louis Police Department responded to a 911 report of a possible home invasion in progress in the 1200 block Market Street. Within moments officers arrived and discovered a female victim deceased inside an apartment from apparent gunshot wounds.
